Instant viewing of computer generated information, such as Reports, Statements, Invoices, and Ledgers, is critical in these days of increasing competition and legislation. The worldwide acceptance of the PC coupled with the availability of sophisticated Windows based Client / Server software, has resulted in powerful User tools that access, create, organize and store enormous amounts of information.  Because DataStore applications use a common Windows interface they require a minimum amount of additional outlays on hardware. The ability to interface  with popular Microsoft Office applications can further reduce IT investments.

The real cost of Paper and COM Based Information

Expensive processing and filing labor, storage space, single-user access, environmental issues, security (and natural disaster), misfiring and the sheer time taken to locate the relevant information in order to respond to an inquiry prove that paper based information is too problematic. Microfiche/film previously addressed some of the problems. However, high on-going costs, mis-filing, poor reproduction quality, employee productivity and Customer service level issues still remain. On line DASD archival is also seen as a possible answer in many instances, although it can lead to response time degradation for primary applications and is prohibitively expensive.

Ease of Use

With COLD (Computer generated Output), the would be printed files are instead transferred from the host computer electronically, indexed using Customer pre-defined fields, compressed (to maximize the use of storage space), and stored on either optical media, to ensure integrity of data, magnetic disk (RAID) or CD-ROM - DVD RAM.  With a possibility of a million or more pages per gigabyte of media, there is no more efficient method of managing transaction based reports and documents.  All of this is accomplished with NO LABOR COMPONENTS other than oversight.

Once stored, the information may be retrieved by a single or multiple networked workstations immediately. Once retrieved, the information may be viewed, printed (with or without form overlay), or simply exported to another application.

The average DataStore user can master the system in under one (1) hour. After initial setup Administrative functions are limited to a few hours per month.

Scanning modules and importing of raster images.

With the addition of the Image management component of DataStore Plus, users can file scanned image documents in the same file cabinets as their related COLD reports and documents. Images captured by fax servers or other applications can also be imported directly into batches or file cabinets.  Users are never aware of the complexities associated with the totally different file and data formats as the results of each search automatically display each file type in the same viewer.
